What Tallyforth costs
Four packages, from $295 a month. You pick one by how many transactions and accounts you have, and you see your price before we ask who you are.
The packages
Each package is a fixed price every month. Choose by your transactions and accounts. Prices are before applicable sales taxes.

Past your package
Past your package, it's $50 for each 25 more transactions and $40 for each more account. We move you to a bigger package when that costs less, so the price climbs in small steps and never jumps.
A package changes only after two month-ends in a row over its capacity, and only if you agree. One busy month never changes it, and there is no surprise charge inside your package.
Keeping QuickBooks Online or Xero
Tallyforth's own software is included in every package. If you'd rather keep your books in QuickBooks Online or Xero, our work in your file adds $100 a month for each company, and you pay that subscription yourself.
Moving to Tallyforth's software removes the $100, and each example below shows what that saves. Onboarding is free either way.
Getting started
Onboarding is free when your books are up to date and closed through last month. That holds whether you move to Tallyforth's software or stay where you are. There is no setup fee.
If you join partway through your fiscal year, checking the earlier months once, for your first year-end, is its own line in your estimate. If you move to Tallyforth's software, we bring those months in as monthly summaries for free.
When your books aren't in order, clean-up is priced from the work: reconciling, closing, and matching what's behind. It's one fixed price you see before we start.
If your books need a look first, a $225 records assessment counts what's there and tells you what we found. It's credited to the work if you go ahead.
Year-end only
Year-end preparation for handoff to your CPA is included in every package, for the months we keep. Your CPA prepares and files your tax return.
If someone else keeps your books, year-end only starts with the $225 records assessment, credited once to the work. A year already reconciled each month comes to $800 with one account and $875 with two.
Payroll, invoices, and bills
Added to a package, or on their own where it says so. Prices are before applicable sales taxes.

What's billed on your actual count
The package price is fixed. These lines are billed on the count you actually have each month:

- Payments we schedule in Plooto
- People on payroll
Plooto's own subscription and payment fees are inside our price. Only a card payment's fee is passed on, as charged. A quiet month costs less on these lines, and a busy one costs more.
Packages have a 3-month minimum commitment. Emails and calls are never billed, however many there are.
Your books are yours
Your books are yours: ask at any time and we'll hand over your full records in standard formats, whether you're staying or going. Exporting is never gated, never delayed, and never tied to whether you're leaving.
If you cancel, you keep full access for six months, and after that your books stay readable and downloadable for six years (the CRA's minimum) in an archive nobody can change, including us. Those windows are enforced in the database itself, not by a policy someone could change later.

What are the packages?

What if I go over my package?

Is there a minimum commitment?

How is GST and PST filing priced?
It's part of your monthly package. Annual GST filing is in every package. Filing more often, and BC PST, are added by how often you file, and Business Plus and Operations include both. Your estimate shows each charge as its own line.
Is accounting software included?
Yes, if your books live in Tallyforth's own software, which is included in every monthly package. If you'd rather keep QuickBooks Online or Xero, we work in it for $100 a month, and you pay that subscription yourself on top. New clients are set up on Tallyforth.

How do bill payments work?
You forward bills to a Tallyforth email address. Bills you pay yourself cost nothing: we attach each one to its payment. We can track them as they arrive for $5 a bill. Or we schedule the payments through Plooto for your approval: $100 a month, $0.75 a payment and $5 a bill, with Plooto's own subscription and payment fees inside our price. Nothing is paid until you approve it. Paying a bill by credit card adds Plooto's card fee, 2.9%, passed on as charged.
How is payroll priced?
From $91 a month, added to your package: a base set by how often you pay people, plus a charge for each person that gets smaller as your team grows. The people you pay are billed on your actual count each month. Software, remittances, WorkSafeBC reporting, and T4s are included; Records of Employment and off-cycle runs are billed only when they happen.
How much does a catch-up cost?
It's priced from the work: the statement lines, accounts, and months to reconcile, close, and match. You see one fixed price before we start, and a month or two behind is priced in your estimate. If your books need a look first, a $225 records assessment counts what's there and is credited to the work.
What does year-end cost?
It's included in every monthly package, for the months we keep. If someone else keeps your books, it starts with a $225 records assessment, credited to the work, and a year already reconciled each month comes to $800 with one account and $875 with two.
Do you charge for emails or calls?
No. Email or call as often as you need. It's part of every package and never billed separately.
Is the price from the estimate calculator final?
No. The calculator gives one estimated figure based on your answers and a few standard assumptions. We confirm it from three months of your bank and card statements before you sign, and final pricing is set out in a signed engagement letter.
