Bookkeeping for power washing and home service companies

Dozens of small jobs a week, paid by card and e-transfer, with a crew on hourly pay. We keep that straight every month, so the books stop being your second job. Liam ran a power washing company for three years and knows the pace of it.

Why a busy season buries the books

The work is not complicated. There is just a lot of it. Every job is a payment, often a small one, and every truck, crew member, tank of fuel and bag of chemicals is a cost to match against it.

At two trucks the books are a chore. At five they are a second job the owner never gets to. Liam ran a power washing company for three years, and this is the stretch where the paperwork slips: the season is full, nobody has time, and the books wait for a night that does not come.

We take that off you. You keep taking payments the way you do now. We reconcile them, record the costs and run your payroll, and you see where the business stands each month.

What makes these books different

Lots of small payments

Each job is a card payment or an e-transfer. We match them to the bank deposits, so nothing is left sitting unrecorded.

A crew on hourly pay

Pay runs, source deductions, vacation pay, ROEs and T4s, set up for the first hire and kept right as the crew grows.

Trucks, fuel and equipment

Vehicle, fuel, chemical and equipment costs recorded as they happen, with the records a vehicle needs kept up.

The busy season

When the season leaves no time for paperwork, we keep going. If the books are behind, a catch-up brings them current.

How we set up your books

  1. Your payment records matched to the bank

Card payments, e-transfers and invoices from the tools you already use, such as Square, Jobber or Housecall Pro, matched to what lands in the bank.

  2. Costs sorted by type

Fuel, chemicals, equipment and vehicle costs recorded in their own accounts, so you can see what each part of the business costs to run.

  3. Crew payroll set up

Hourly pay, source deductions, ROEs and T4s handled for each person you hire.

  4. A monthly look at the numbers

Once a month you see what came in, what went out and what is owed, without asking.

Compliance we keep on top of

Source deductions

Payroll deductions from your crew calculated, recorded and remitted to CRA on time.

GST and PST returns

Your GST and PST filings prepared from the books each period. Which rules apply to your services is a question for CRA or BC's Ministry of Finance.

Year-end handoff

We prepare your year-end records. Corporate tax returns are prepared and filed by a licensed CPA.

Common questions

Do you only work with power washing companies?

No. Power washing is the work Liam knows first-hand, but the same books fit window and gutter cleaning, janitorial, landscaping, junk removal, carpet cleaning and painting crews.

Do I need to change how I take payments?

No. Keep taking card payments and e-transfers the way you do now. We work from the records those tools produce and from your bank.

I just hired my first person. Can you run payroll?

Yes. We set up payroll, run each pay period and handle source deductions, ROEs and T4s.
